I can’t believe it’s almost May! Just a few more weeks until HEART OF THE MATTER is released! I was thrilled to see that Barnes & Noble just reviewed the book, dubbing it an “enthralling character study that is rendered artfully through alternating voices”—and I hope you feel the same when you read about Tessa Russo and Valerie Anderson. The book explores many themes—and among them is the complexity of motherhood—which is why I’m pleased that the book will be released so close to Mother’s Day.

In the meantime, I’d love to recommend another book about motherhood that I think you all will enjoy. PIECES OF HAPPILY EVER AFTER by Irene Zutell is a fabulous, touching story about a young mother named Alice who seems to have it all--a sweet five-year-old daughter, a handsome attorney husband, and a beautiful home in L.A. And yet, Alice’s life begins to unravel when her husband leaves her for his client, a movie star known as the "sexiest woman alive" and Alice becomes a buffet for a paparazzi feeding frenzy. As she tries to shield her little girl from the nightmare, she must also care for her aging mother who has Alzheimer's. Throw in a former high school flame, a sexy paparazzo and some strange neighbors and you won't be able to put this book down.
