inslee!

INSLEE IN THE HOUSE! I am SO thrilled with the drawings that the very talented artist Inslee Haynes sent me! I fell in love with her work last year when a close friend gave me one of her calendars for Christmas--and so admire how her drawings are whimsical and cheerful, yet also elegant and sophisticated. And I am SO honored that my books inspired these adorable drawings! Aren't they the cutest?? Visit her website to see more--and order your very own note cards, calendars, or commissioned work (or this drawing!!

  7. I love Inslee! Hoping to have her do some custom work for my company. I'm so happy I found your blog through her, too. So fitting that my favorite illustrator would be connected to my favorite author. I absolutely love your books!! I was just gushing about them last week on a LONG job site visit. (I'm reading Love the One You're With now. It was my reward each night after hours at a freezing construction site.) I told my client and assistants, who are also my age and a bit snobbish when it comes to "chick lit," that they will love all the cultural references, deep, recognizable characters and the familiar personal dilemmas. One of my assistants just got Something Borrowed and texted me she can't put it down. She conceded, "You're right, a contemporary Jane Austin!" Your work and Inslee's have so much in common: both combine perfect craftsmanship with impeccable taste--and you both manage to make it look so effortless! Please don't ever stop writing. I'm expecting you to walk me through my later years.
