Interesting, especially given our discussion last week... What does everyone think (read article and link in this first article)? Are people too hard on her--or is this further evidence that she's a totally out-of-touch elitist snob? (The line about deep-conditioning while exercising!--Wow! What a multi-tasker!--cracked me up. Incidentally, I digested my breakfast wrap while speaking to my children this morning. :)

  1. I think she's forgotten that most people don't have personal trainers, nannies, maids, etc. She's not the typical working mother and she never will be. For her to give adivce to working mothers who have to do everything themselves is a bit ludicrous.

  4. I find it interesting that out of all the privileged people in the U.S. and the world, the media chooses to criticize her. Yeah I get that she's privileged, so what?

Sounds to me like people are jealous. I don't think you can compare an affluent woman's life to a middle class or working woman's life. I'm not defending her, I don't care for her acting either. She's actually really boring to watch.

But she comes from an affluent family, what do people expect? She has different expectations for her own life. Now knowing that, I don't think she's made the best use of her website.

People that are lifestyle gurus try to have a more down to earth approach, they know that most people aren't wealthy, most people are middle class. Your audience needs to relate to you and I don't think she knows how to do that.

There's nothing wrong with being privileged but I think if she's going to talk about her world, she should aim to a more affluent audience or talk about things in a more generic way so that they could apply to anyone.

    And no I'm not rich.
