INTRODUCING SOBO DIRECTOR LUKE GREENFIELD!

SOBO DIRECTOR LUKE GREENFIELD'S LETTER TO YOU! Reply in the thread below and he will select his favorite reply and send you a movie poster!!

What’s up, Darcy, Rachel, Claire, Ethan & Dex’s out there!!!

My name is Luke Greenfield and yes, I am a recovering addict of the Emily Giffin “Something” Series. And yes, I admit I’m a Rachel not a Darcy. I’m writing you from Warner Brothers studios in LA where we’re putting the final touches on the movie, “Something Borrowed.” And yes, you’ll find the movie to be an incredibly genuine adaptation of the book we all love so much.

So here’s the great news: The studio is ready to make the sequel, “Something Blue” in London! All casting ideas are welcome for the supporting roles to join John Krasinski as Ethan and Kate Hudson as Darcy.

So here’s what we need: On May 6th, we need EVERYONE to go see “Something Borrowed” in theaters on opening weekend! Do NOT sit at home and wait for the DVD or Giffin & I will come to your house and yank you out of your livingrooms. Take your family, take your friends, even the friends that annoy you! We need “Something Borrowed” to open BIG so we can start shooting the sequel right away.

And for all you die-hard fans, there’s a little something special just for you after the ending credits – Shhhhh! So DON’T leave the theater before the credits!

More to come… I’m just getting’ warmed up here!

Best, Luke

  10. Team Rachael!!!!!!! I think that Darcy's OB should be played by someone like Jason Statham - pure hotness and can totally play the role although it may be too much of a different role for him to play... But who wouldn't want to see Jason Statham in a scene with Kate Hudson :) But I'd also like to see Gerard Butler as her love interest too... I think that Ethan's girlfriend should be played Hillary herself :) She would totally nail the role and we deserve to see her in the movie... We're die-hard fans of Hillary too!!! :) So can we please re-unite Gerard and Hillary!?!?!?

  14. I'm so looking forward to SOBO. I've been a fan of the books for a few years now and I think I squealed (uncharacteristic of me) when I heard about the movie.

Thor also comes out May 6th. My husband's birthday is the 8th. I think I'll see if I can convince him to take a vacation day, and we'll spend the day at the movies.

  32. I am so excited!! I got my husband's phone when I found out the release date of the movie and put on his calendar "don't make plans" so he will stay home and watch the kids while I go see the movie! :) I have been telling all of my friends about the book and movie so there will be a big group of crazy moms hitting the theater May 6th in Orlando, FL!!

  33. As an avid reader, I have seen many of my fave books adapted for the big screen and am always disappointed. That being said, after watching the trailer, I am AWED at how amazing it looks and not only can I not wait for the movie, but I want to go back and reread the book! SO EXCITED. Counting down til May 6th....

    ReplyDelete
  34. I literally laughed out loud when you said "even the friends that annoy you". Mainly cuz one specific friend came to mind and she is VERY annoying to see movies with. But I will recruit as many people as I possibly can to see this awesome movie!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have already sent FB messages to my friends for a GNO (Girls Night Out!!) We are ready for dinner, drinks and a FABULOUS MOVIE!! You have no idea how excited we are!! Thanks for putting a smile on our faces!!

  38. I am so excited about the movie. Can't wait! I will definitely be there on opening night, and am spreading the news...And I can't wait to see what comes after the credits. As far as casting, I agree with an earlier poster who said Gerard Butler for Geoffrey. And I would like to nominate myself to play Sondrine. LOL

  39. I was given this book, and it's partner, in 2004 by my dear friend and neighbor. I spent my birthday weekend on the couch reading them both. Sound sad and pathetic? On the contrary, I was stuck inside with a horrible sinus infection therefore no visitors or night out for me. My family actually asked me when I would stop reading! Since then I've collected those in hardcover, along with all her others, and when she visits her hometown bookstore I've had them signed. These are preserved, not to be read/shared with others (only the paperbacks!). I WILL be at the May 6th opening day, and love the fact that the date is an addition problem--yeah, I'm also a numbers girl too...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am super excited for these movies! They are going to be awesome, no doubt about it. Different and unique from other romantic comedies because Emily is such an amazing writer. The adaptations will be amazing. The casting has also been spot on.

I'm such a Rachel too. I'm always the good girl. I went to law school. I even went to Notre Dame (Rachel wanted to go there). She's such a great character. And I love Darcy too. I love her transformation and cannot wait to see it on the big screen. You can count on me and my friends to be at the movie theaters on May 6th! :D

May I also suggest Jude Law for the role of Geoffrey in "Something Blue?" :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am so excited for this movie to come out in May!!! I've been counting down the days to see it and I am bringing everyone I know with me!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Two things:
    1. I squealed like a little girl when I saw the plans for "Something Blue". I am NOT a little girl. I am a big girl.
    2. I will TOTALLY be in the new movie, thanks for asking. I am neither an actress, nor am I British.. however I'm super cool.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Luke, I have been waiting for this movie since the minute I read the "something" series! My friends and I have already planned our SOBO viewing day. May 6th happens to be the day before our college graduation and we couldn't be happier that it is also opening day for the movie! So... needless to say come May 6th my closet group of college girlfriends and I will get all dolled up and have an entire day dedicated to the launch of the film!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I cannot WAIT to see this movie!! I am totally a Rachel and Dex fan. Seeing as May is also the month of my birthday, and the same time SOBO is going to be in theatres, it only makes sense that I'm going to go see it as a gift to myself!

PS - I agree with Alejandra about the Jason Statham or Gerard Butler thing, although I'd be more inclined to say Gerard Butler as the OB. Yummy!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. i will be there, promise!!! and im bringing my friends

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm so excited to see the movie in theatres... once with my girlfriends and once with my husband.

  50. As soon as I read these, I immediately bought all Emily's books and read from cover to cover! I have reread the entire book series and listened to them on audiobook as well. I cannot wait for the movie and have even given my copy to my mom to read so she knows the story before we go in May! Where I used to work, we also shared all the books and discussed them in length! I <3 Emily for her creative mind and the fantastic characters she's created!

  56. I fell in love with Emily Giffin's books a few years ago and then reacquainted myself with them when I discovered that Something Borrowed was getting made into a movie. I then transferred this love to Emily Giffin to my best friend, who is now a proud owner of all of Emily's books. This is a great accomplishment for me because she never really enjoyed reading novels before and now she loves it! Then I proceeded to start working on my roommates at school. We had "storytime" where each of us would read a chapter out loud to each other so we all got to experience the book at the same time. They're all very excited to see the movie, as am I. Our finals week ends as the movie premieres, so it will be a great end-of-year celebration!

I didn't have strong feelings about who needed to be cast in certain roles, but I was ecstatic to learn that John Krasinski (love me some Jim Halpert) and Ginnifer Goodwin (she will always be "Cathy-friend" from Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! to me) were cast in this movie.

I definitely need a movie poster in order to add to my collection. I wish I could add a picture to prove it to you, because the living room in my dorm is covered in movie posters, over 20, to be exact. Twilight is just asking to be ripped off the wall and replaced with a Something Borrowed poster, so Luke, make it happen!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I can not wait! I made my sister read these books and we are totally seeing the movie on opening night! =)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Luke, dude. You totally screwed yourself and the fate of this movie by your letter to the fans. NEVER, EVER threaten us by saying: Do NOT sit at home and wait for the DVD or Giffin & I will come to your house and yank you out of your livingrooms."

This is EXACTLY what we want. I want YOU and I want EMILY to come to my livingroom (in Scottsdale, no less, so I am close to LA), and YANK my ass out of my house and TAKE ME TO THE PREMIERE. Keep your poster. Stand by your threat. Take ME on May 6. Dare YOU. : )

  59. I can hardly wait! I already had a girls night planned the second I heard there would be a movie! :)

The movie theater in my hometown burned down last year and they are still working through the red tape to replace it... so I will be driving to the next closest town an hour away just to see it! That is how much I <3 you Emily Giffin! :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. So ... I've already set up a Girl's Movie Night in my hometown where a large group of my girlfriends (some Rachel's, some Darcy's ... and yes, even some Claire's) will get all dolled up ... I am talking manicures, pedicures, hair, makeup and our cutest outfits and hit the town for a fabulous dinner to lead us up to the production known as, "Something Borrowed". Although we've all read the book, judging from the movie trailer, we will all be at the edge of our seats, cheering Rachel on. The cast is absolutely amazingly stunning, however, believable as the characters in the book. Emily & Luke, and all of Emily's fans, if you would like to join our group on May 6th in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, please feel free, as I am positive it will be a night to remember. xo

  61. OMG can't wait. Birthday weekend is going to ROCK just because of your movie! And yes I'm doing a happy dance that Something Blue will be picture motion too!!!

  62. LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKEE!!! OMG I am so beyond excited for SOBO THE MOVIE!!! My sister introduced me to Emily's SOBO book a couple of years ago and i COULD NOT put the book down!! I read it in about a day and a half! It was so incredibly addicting! So what did i do? I told all my girlfriends of this book they HAD to read because it was just one of those great books you cant put down! And what happened? They all loved it and we were talking about it constantly as if it were an addicting soap opera! LOL! Last year when I heard that SOBO was going to become a MOVIE I was sooooooooo freaking excited (my eyes are watery right now from excitement just writing this message to you!) and i told all my girlfriends and we just couldn't believe it. So ever since LAST YEAR, we have a special "SOBO movie" girls night out pending! And when we heard it was going to be coming out MAY 6 I facebooked and texted all my girls to give them a heads up and a save the date!! Honestly, I might sound a little out of control but we are just sooooo freaking excited for this movie! My friends and I are HUUUGE Emily fans and we love allllllll her books! We've had the pleasure to meet her at her book signings and she's just a doll all around. We really do love her and appreciate her for creating Something Borrowed. And don't worry, my sister, gf's and I will definitely do our part to spread the word for everyone to go out and watch it. As a matter of fact, i posted a message to all my friends yesterday on my facebook page to go see it May 6th! Oh, and I Tweeted it as well! I'm not kidding lol! I just got a text from my sister and she said "Let's go watch it a hundred times!!" you see how supportive we are??? I will continue reminding all my friends because I am SURE the movie will be fantastic! I CANNOT WAIT for Something Blue to get the okay to begin filming!! I truly do wish this movie opens big on theatres. I love you guys so much for bringing this book to life! Like, for reals, I love you guys for doing this!

    P.S: Team Rachel!!!

    Lots of Love, Emma

  71. Hello Luke!

I have to say that the day my friend gave me the news there was going to be a movie made of the book I was beyond exited! I came to read the “something” series through my dear friend Emma that would be the one that wrote you an essay right above me. She came to my house and recommend I read this FAB book she had barrowed from her sister. So I read and became hypnotized by it. I was so exited finished one book after the other. And about two years ago she came to me again with GREAT news! That there was going to be a movie inspired by the book! I have not looked forward to movie as much as I am looking forward to May 6! Thank you so much. I have to say I cannot express how exited I am. I watched the trailer over and over last night! The movie looks awesome I’m sure it will be a great hit. And don’t worry Luke come May 6 we will be there! So you can start casting for “Something Blue” I think Anne Hathaway or Katherine Heigl are very good actress and would be perfect to play one of the supporting roles.
    Team Darcy all the way!!!!
    Love Yaya =)

  75. Here is who I would cast for Something Blue:
    Phoebe - Jennifer Coolidge
    Martin – James Callis
    Charlotte – Emily Blunt
    Meg - Keira Knightley
    Sondrine - Amy Adams
    Geoffrey - Raza Jaffrey
With the exception of Sondrine and Pheobe, they are all British actors.

  76. I'm seeing it the day it opens in London, and I'm taking a whole bunch of people with me. I cannot WAIT for SOBO to come out, I'm so excited. Just the thought of SoBo and Something Blue becomming movies makes me want to jump up and down like a crazy person.

Please not Keira or Emily, they both bug me so much I don't think I could cope if theywere in a movie I was so desperate to see lol. Amy Adams would be amazing though.

And, if you need any extras for London ;)

  101. Emily & Luke:

{Huge} congrats to you both for delivering the most relatable, lovable, quirky and altogether charming characters to a world that craves laughter and inspiration :o) I have been a fan of Emily's since SOBO was first introduced to the market in 2005. In fact, the book was published just two months before I married the most incredible man - so was a sweet reprieve from the adventures of cramming for Finals as a college Senior while finalizing wedding plans!

. . . Believe it or not, even the dapper hubs has been spotted with her signature pastel dust covers {& he's man enough to hold 'em up with pride - not too shabby given that he's an Officer in the military, so that's no obvious or easy feat} ;0)

Why? Because that's her true talent - engaging audiences of all ages and genders. Their stories of hardship and hope are undeniable page turners. Even more, there's a little piece of all of us in each of her compelling and colorful characters so it's impossible not to be mesmerized : )

And that is exactly why this film, like her novels, is going to be a smashing success at the box office! Luke, having seen the trailer, it is clear you have translated her vision into a fun and heartwarming story {just what the world needs - a joyful escape from the daily grind}! Best wishes as you continue the adventure in London and rest assured, a huge posse of friends and I will be cheering you both on from sunny San Francisco!

    Cheers!

  102. I think Rachel represents a bit of all of us. At some point, we've all had moments of insecurity where we grew from the best friend pleasing, parent pleasing, or work hating person to something else. Rachel's growth represents someone who grows up, discovers that friendships change, relationships evolve, and most importantly... the sexist aspect of a person is learning to stand up and believe in yourself.

  103. is so excited!!!! Going to see the movie twice on opening weekend!! My husband is taking the day off to take me on a date to see it on opening day! He knows I have been waiting years For SOBO to become a movie!! On Saturday, I am planning a girls night out with all my girlfriends that I introduce Emily's books too!! Thanks for sharing !!

  104. On a male perspective, I am Rachel. That's why I can't wait for this movie to come out. Just call me Ray instead. Lol

  106. I am a Rachel. I believe in fairy tales, just like her. I think she represents the sweet side of all of us, plus the idea of chasing after what we want. I can not wait to see this amazing book be made into a movie!! I've seen the trailer countless times and it looks so great. The actors are all so talented and the author is such a sweetheart. This book is so real- it has comedy and lovable characters and heart. If the movie is anything like the book, then I know it will be a huge success!!

  107. SOBO will always have a special place in my heart because I read it the summer I studied for the bar exam (and passed - see de-stress reading works!) I am neither Rachel or Darcy, but I love their upside down, inside out friendship for the complexity of reasons that we keep friends, discard others, and the betrayals that we will and will not abide. And thanks for the heads up on the credits - I always stay anyways but all the more reason!

  108. Luke- Thanks so much for your post, we love being kept in the loop! I always imagined Darcy's OB as George Clooney. I realize he probably won't be on the list of choices, but ever since he was in ER it just stuck in my mind that he would be a wonderful doctor! Plus, he seems distinguished and handsome enough for the part! Other than that, I would say go with British actors, they will be genuine, and it would be a great way to promote the movie there and here. We Americans love anything that makes us feel cultured! My good friend (who I got hooked on Emily and took to meet her at a book signing) and I are eagerly awaiting the premier!
    Thanks again!!

  109. I haven't been this excited for a movie since 2008 when the first Sex and City movie came out!!
So excited to get dressed up with the girls and have cosmos and a great dinner before going to see Something Borrowed

  110. First off, thank you casting Gods for putting John Krasinski in SOBO! I agree with someone above who said for Something Blue you should cast Emily Blunt in a role. Not sure which one, but I think it would be hilarious given they're married in real life. As far as other casting choices... throw me in there. (I'm hustling and live in LA.)

Can we also get Jude Law incorporated in there somewhere? Women's heads might explode.

  111. my friend lent me something blue first (because i was about to go visit london), so i accidentally read that before something borrowed...oddly it still seemed to work out well for me. i think it gave me some more love for darcy when i read something borrowed afterwards...i can't wait to re-read the books in the correct order before the film comes out in may! i'm going to bring everyone i know!!!

    ReplyDelete
  112. I cannot wait to see John Krasinski!

And the movie, of course. ;) I loved the series and have read them over and over again.

  113. I loved loved loved this book! I read it on a weekend that was supposed to be devoted to essay-writing in college. But oh well! Now I CANNOT wait to see the movie... When will it premiere in Costa Rica? Otherwise, I guess I'll have to fly to the States to see it!

  114. Oh, and THANK YOU for casting John Krasinski!

  115. I can not wait for this movie to come out! My bookclub girls and I are going to the theaters the day the movie comes out!! We've been so excited for these books to become movies, that we definitely won't miss out on this!

  116. Luke!
Just this morning I asked off work for Friday May 6th. This is not because I will be out all day on Friday, but rather because my friends and I will be set with our SOBO (puffy paint made) t shirts on the 5th so that we can see it at midnight! I'm big on movie premieres, but I'm mostly just big on John Krasinski ;)
In reference to Rachel and Darcy...I think I'm much more like Ethan. I'm "the friend." The one who has to hear both sides and can see the vulnerability on both sides. Sometimes it's just rough...
Anyways, the news about the Something Blue has me totally amped up! Thanks for bringing this to the fans who support Emily Giffin and her work the most!!!

  117. Can't wait to plan another girls night!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I can't wait for Something Borrowed! I have read the book several times, and I actually want to read it again before the movie comes out on May 6th. I have already requested that day off of work!! I plan to see it with my sister and drag my friends as well!
I'm also very excited for Something Blue. This book was my absolute favorite!! When I first finished Something Borrowed I wasn't sure I wanted to read an entire book about Darcy, but then I LOVED IT! I can't wait to see this book adapted into a movie. Will Rachel and Dex be in any of the Something Blue movie?? I know they are mentioned in the book but not really there. I also can't wait to see John portray Ethan in the movie! He looks like he will be funny in the trailer for Something borrowed!
    I would say I'm a Rachel...def NOT a Darcy!
Anyways I cannot wait!!! May 6th can't come fast enough!

  119. I am the biggest fan from Australia, and am willing to fly over if I can get tickets the world premiere!!!! Seriously!!!! It's only a 14 hour flight...that gives me enough time to read the books...AGAIN!
Emily is the best author i have ever read, and it looks like you will be the best director also if the trailer is anything to go by...
The movie has the perfect cast, and I know that anything Hilary Swank is involved with will turn to gold.
I am so excited for all of you. This movie and the sequel will be an absolute hit as the stories touch some many of us. We have all been there, done that, felt that, experienced the pain, the happiness, everything.
If I am unable to get premiere tickets, i will be totally stoked with a poster....
Thank you Emily and Luke for making people smile and for allowing people to look forward to 'something' in their lives as we are all so busy these days, or dealing with tragedies around the world, or sickness and death with family members and friends. We all need 'something' to look forward to and this is exactly what we all need.
    Thank You. Xxxxxx

  120. I am so excited, as I went to see Hall Pass this Monday and saw the trailer. I became a Giffanatic (ha, just made that up to my knowledge!) years ago with Baby Proof first and have since read all her books. Love her style and the characters and the stories. I am so excited SoBo was made into a movie, and I think the cast looks great (Dex is exactly as I pictured and I think Ginnifer will be a perfect Rachel).
Also excited to hear SoBlue will be in production soon. I think actors like James McAvoy, Henry Cavill, or Andrew Garfield, and Emily Blunt or Alice Eve would be great for the Brit roles.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I will be there on May 6th!! I loved Something Borrowed, but I LOVED Something Blue much more so I definitely want the movie to be made. I love Ethan and am so happy that John Krasinski is playing him and can't wait to see more of him in Something Blue!!!!

  122. I'm glad you are a recovering addict of Emily Giffin's 'Borrowed' series. I have yet to reach that stage in my treatment. I don't think I've made it past the first stage. Oops.

    ReplyDelete
  123. So excited for this to come out! Thanks for the insider tips!

  124. I can't wait! I have passed Emily's books around to my sister, cousins, aunts and friends and we are all looking forward to the feature film. =)

  125. My friends and I have the date saved on our calendars! I can't wait to see the movie :)

  126. Luke, Emily, Everybody who loves SoBo,

My school's final exams end on May 5th. I live in my sorority house and I'm going to go with any sisters left to the nearest movie theater to watch it as an end of finals week treat! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

    Love,
    Hannah <3

P.S.- If I win the poster, I'm hanging it in my room next year. Who doesn't love waking up to the face of John Krasinski (and the rest of the cast, of course!)?

    ReplyDelete
  127. I cannot wait for the movie to come out as well as the sequel! I definitely relate to Rachel. I always feel like I am the girl never chosen. I can totally see how she feels! :) <3

  128. So...I'm totally going to go see "Something Borrowed" on opening weekend... but I'm going to tell you that I'm waiting for the DVD so Emily & you DO come to my house! I'll be waiting...with wine of course! :D

  129. Luke,
Like everyone else, I instantly fell in love with these books. I've pushed them on all of my girlfriends, and they all loved them too.

I even considered buying a copy for each of my bridesmaids and writing "Don't even think about it!" inside the covers. ;)

When I read the stories I found a little part of Rachel and Darcy inside of myself. The more flattering parts Rachel of course. ;)

At the time I read Something Blue, I was seeing Colin Firth as Geoffrey. (Bridget Jones might have had a little to do with this.) He may be a little busy now though... =)

Best of luck for an epic opening weekend!!

  130. If I win the movie poster I am going to hang it in my college freshmen dorm room this fall! Yes, I am a young Emily Giffin fan but there Darcy and Rachels in high school especially when the quarterback looks like Taylor Lautner.
Are there going to be midnight premieres for something borrowed?
There's never been a book turned movie good enough for me to see at midnight. Meyer has nothing on Giffin. I mean Vampires, really? Might as well be about unicorns.
Please, Please let us see the nursery Darcy creates. And do it up fabulous.
Cast someone like Nicole Kidman for Darcy's American doctor. Someone a tad but judgemental.
Can't wait to see the movie! I'll probably watch the trailer 800 times before the movie comes out. I also can't wait to see everyone at the offical premiere. Wish I could go!

  131. Emily Giffin is my favorite author and I look forward to enjoying her literary genius for many years to come!

  132. I am half tempeted to say I will wait for the DVD just to have the opportunity to meet the 2 of you when you drag me to the theater! I cannot wait to see the movie! I will be there opening night!

  133. Oh my!!!...I am so not leaving the movies before credits.I Read the book few years ago but tired of trying to convince a bunch of slow (and some never-ever)readers to do so I bought the audio-book version and gave to all my closest friends as holiday gift. Result: 17 obsessed friends asking me day and night what we'll gonna do for our SoBo weekend. We are going all 3 days of the weekend to support the opening weekend. Giffin is a pro!!!Thanks Luke to make the best book ever into a movie.

  134. My friends and I are planning a girls night out for the opening night. We can't wait!

  135. Luke- Admitting you're an addict is the 1st step ;-)

I was hooked from page #1... And couldn't stop!!!!

And now to know its coming to me VIA a motion picture starring Kate Hudson!! Are u kidding me!!!???!!!!

Super exciting! GNO is already planned- we can't wait!!!

Oh and P.S.- Its very tempting to stay home - in hopes you and Emily would show up in my living room (however I don't think I could handle NOT seeing the movie on day #1!!)

    ReplyDelete
  136. My best friend and I have a plan to see it on opening day - it's right before her birthday and we're going to drink margaritas and then go. We're even going to wear our SOBO buttons that Emily Giffin mailed to me!

    ReplyDelete
  137. My sister and I are so excited to see this movie we may
Pee our pants. Seriously. And yeah I went there! ;)

  138. The trailer is awesome! I cannot wait to see the movie. You guys did such a good job with casting! I have already reread the book to get ready!

  139. It is interesting to get to see so much of the process! Amazing! Happy March..I hope yours is filled with all of the thing you love! Mine will be filled with what I love....hockey, bithdays, books, movies and cake! ;)

  140. Ahhh, I can not wait for this movie!! I have never been more excited for a movie in my LIFE!! My friend let me borrow her something novels by Emily and I could not put them down!! I read both in a day and then went out and bought my own copies!!! Which I have already re read since I saw that it was being turned into a movie so of course I could refresh my brain, but I will probably read them once again before May!! Emily is a genious when it comes to writing, I have loved every single one of your books and I can not wait until they ALL becomes movies!! Congratulations on all you success and I can not wait until May 6 to be sitting in the theater with all my friends watching something borrowed :)

  141. I can't wait for this movie to come out! I got so many of my friends into reading her books and now we are all stoked to see the movie. I am planning on watching the midnight showing of it on Thursday night in Long Beach, CA even though I have to be in Orange County by 6am the next morning for my nursing hospital clinicals. The lack of sleep will all be worth it just to be able to watch the movie as soon as it comes out! =)

  142. "I'm on a drug, it's called Emily Giffin." - compliments of Charlie Sheen....although slightly altered :)

    ReplyDelete
  143. Yay! All the Rachels in the just wave your hands in the air! :)

I will be a little cliche and say that I'm excited about SOBO hitting the theatres so much that I want to reserve an entire theatre screening and pull friends, family and strangers. Emilys Something series talks about real life, love and true friendship: something that every single person in the world deals, dealt and is dealing with.

So, the world should get ready for Emily Giffins writings because bestsellers, hit movies and crazy fans are just the tip of the iceburg!

PS: Mr. Luke...thanks for the present. Now I really have a reason to watch the credits without being looked upon strangly. Now I wonder how many other SOBO fans will be there during the credits party :) *dances the cabbage patch*

  145. My roommates and I are absolutely thrilled for the movie. Unfortunately, the movie will premiere during our summer holiday and at the present moment not all of us know where we'll be. We fear not, the three of us will delight in the movie in whatever city we are this summer and regroup to discuss; as we tend to do such with the novels.

P.S. You did a lovely job of casting. Looking forward to the film.

  146. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALICIA!! SOBO director Luke Greenfield selected her response as his favorite and will be sending her and her best friend movie posters!

  150. I know I'm a little late joining this thread but I'm jumping in anyways with a casting suggestion! You should seriously consider having Jack Davenport (Norrington from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies) play Geoffrey. He's British, handsome, and also hilarious (I dare you to listen to his DVD commentary on the first Pirates movie and not tear up with laughter). Can't wait to see both movies!
